Sweet Gus has been having a bit of a bumpy ride these last few weeks. We found a wonderful adopter who fell in love with Gus, but sometimes even a wonderful home isn’t the right fit. Gus has decided that maybe a home without a resident cat will be more to his liking. On top of that, Gus has tested positive for heartworms. He is back with us in a loving foster home while we get him healthy and ready to find the home we know is waiting for him. Send sweet Gus all the healing vibes!

They are learning all the comforts of home with their foster mom so that they will each be ready to find their forever home! With faces like theirs we doubt they will be with us for long.

We wanted to introduce you to Gary under much happier circumstances. 💔

Gary recently joined Made a Promise Rescue, but after settling into foster care, it became clear something wasn’t right. He was lethargic, not eating well, and despite our best efforts to support him, he continued to decline.

Last night, Gary was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. He arrived with a fever, an elevated respiratory rate, low blood sugar, and abnormal bloodwork. He is currently receiving IV fluids, medications, nebulization treatments, coupage therapy, and around the clock monitoring as the veterinary team works to help him recover.

The estimate for his hospitalization is up to $3,500 if everything goes smoothly and he doesn’t need to stay longer. The estimate is posted in the comments.

At Made a Promise Rescue, our name is our promise. And right now, our promise to Gary is that he won’t face this alone.
