Meet Olive
Olive is sweet, sassy, and growing into a whole lot of dog. She has the shiny black coat, oversized paws, and slightly uncoordinated way of moving those paws around that has earned her the nickname "the little Clydesdale" in her foster home.
She's still a puppy, so there is plenty of growing and learning ahead of her. What we're already seeing is a social girl who enjoys playing with the other dogs in her foster home, likes being around her people, and has a pretty nice routine figured out. Give her some time to play and get her energy out, and she's ready to settle in beside you for cuddles.
The Promise We Made to Olive
We promised Olive that we would find her a safe and loving home where she can grow into the beautiful big dog she's going to be.
That means finding a family that's ready for the puppy she is today and committed to putting in the time and training that will help shape the adult dog she'll become.

Personality
Olive is equal parts sweet and sassy. She enjoys being involved with her people, but she's also happy to spend time playing with her dog friends. After she's gotten some exercise and fun out of her system, she's more than ready to settle down and cuddle beside you.
She's also very food motivated, which comes in handy when you're raising a puppy with plenty left to learn. She's already picking up basic commands quickly, and her foster feels that she'll continue making good progress with someone willing to keep teaching her.
In the Home
Olive currently lives in a foster home with her foster parents and other dogs. Monday through Thursday, she's kenneled for approximately six to eight hours while her foster parents are away. Once they're home, she spends her time hanging out with them and her canine foster friends.
At night, Olive sleeps in her kennel. She's still working on potty training, which is expected for a puppy, and will need a family willing to continue providing a consistent routine as she grows.
With Other Dogs
Olive enjoys other dogs and likes playing with the dogs in her foster home. Based on what we've seen, we think she would enjoy a forever home with one or two compatible canine companions.
With People
Olive likes being around her people and has a nice balance of activity and affection. She's happy to get some play and exercise in and then curl up next to you when she's ready to relax.
With Kids
We haven't had the opportunity to see Olive regularly interact with children, so her behavior with kids is currently unknown.
We do know that she's going to be a big, strong girl and is currently a jumper. Because of that, we think a home without small children would be the better fit while she continues learning her manners.
With Cats and Small Animals
We haven't had the opportunity to see Olive around cats or other small animals.
Training & Care
Olive already knows a few basic commands and is proving to be a fast learner. She's highly food motivated, which gives her future family a great tool for continuing her training.
She's still a puppy, so there is plenty more to work on, including potty training and jumping. As she gets bigger, good manners will become even more important, and she'll benefit from a family committed to continuing consistent, positive training.
Ideal Home
Olive would do well with a family that's prepared for a puppy who is going to grow into a big, powerful dog. She needs people who will continue her training, give her appropriate opportunities to play and exercise, and still save plenty of room beside them when she's ready to cuddle.
A home with one or two compatible dogs could be especially nice for Olive since she enjoys playing with her foster siblings. Most importantly, she needs a family ready to enjoy the fun of raising her while also putting in the work that comes with it.
A Note from the Foster
It's impossible not to notice Olive's paws. They're huge, and she has a habit of flopping them around as she moves that has earned her the nickname "the little Clydesdale."
Between those giant puppy paws, her shiny black coat, and her sweet and sassy personality, she's a pretty special girl to watch grow.
Promise Pup Highlight
Olive is absolutely stunning with her glossy black coat, but those oversized paws tend to steal the show. If they're any indication of what's coming, the little Clydesdale isn't going to stay little for long.
The Promise Moving Forward
We promised Olive a safe and loving home where she could grow into the beautiful big dog she's meant to be. We'll make sure that home is ready to love the sweet, sassy puppy she is now and committed to the big girl those Clydesdale paws are carrying her toward.
We'll keep that promise until the day she finally goes home.
