The promise we made to Woody

Woody came to Made a Promise Rescue after being lovingly transferred from Missouri Pit Bull Rescue, the organization that helped give him his start in foster care. From the very beginning, the promise made to Woody was simple but powerful to keep him safe, supported, and surrounded by love until the right family finds him. He grew up in foster care alongside his brothers, learning how to be a confident, social, and affectionate dog. While his siblings have already found their forever homes, Woody is still patiently waiting for his turn and we are committed to seeing that promise through.

Personality

Woody is joyful, curious, and full of heart. He loves being involved in whatever is happening around him and has a way of making people smile without even trying. He is affectionate without being overwhelming and playful without being chaotic. Woody is the kind of dog who bonds deeply with his people and wants to be part of everyday life.

In the Home

Woody has grown up in a foster home environment and has adapted beautifully to home life. He enjoys routine, playtime, and settling in for downtime with his people. After a day of activity, he is more than happy to relax and soak up affection.

With Other Dogs and People

Woody enjoys friendly dog companions and does well with appropriate introductions. He would be happy with a well matched dog friend or as the only dog soaking up all the attention. With people, Woody is friendly, outgoing, and welcoming. He loves meeting new faces and quickly makes himself at home.

Training and Care

Woody is smart and food motivated, making him a joy to train. He responds well to positive reinforcement and is eager to please. Continued training will help him keep building confidence and polish his skills as he matures.

Woody would thrive in a home that enjoys including their dog in daily life and is committed to continued training and structure. An active household with older kids or an adult home that enjoys walks, playtime, and companionship would be a great fit for him.
