The promise we made to Willy

Willy has been deeply loved his entire life, and the people caring for him now are committed to making sure his next chapter is the right fit for everyone involved, including Willy. Sometimes even good dogs and good homes are not the right match long term, and that’s okay. We promised Willy we would help find a home where he can continue to thrive, feel secure, and be someone’s best friend every single day.

Personality

Willy is a giant love bug wrapped up in a happy go lucky personality. He loves to run and play, but once he’s gotten his energy out, he turns right back into a cuddle bug who wants to be as close to his people as possible. If you sit down, there’s a very good chance Willy will try to join you.

He adores people and forms strong bonds with his family. Most of all, he just wants to be included in everyday life. He can occasionally be unsure around men wearing hats, but with patience and reassurance, his sweet personality quickly takes over.

In the Home

Willy currently lives in a home where he has free reign of the house and yard during the day. He spends most of his time lounging, napping, checking in for attention, and waiting for snacks. He sleeps on the couch at night and has excellent house manners.

He is fully potty trained, crate trained, and does not have accidents in the home or kennel. He is extremely food motivated and eager to please, which makes continued training fun and rewarding.

With Other Dogs

Willy would be happiest as the only pet in the home. While he has been around other dogs, he does best when he does not have to share his space, attention, or routines with another animal.

With People

Willy absolutely loves people and wants to be near his humans as much as possible. He is affectionate, loyal, and happiest when he’s curled up next to someone he loves. He does amazing with children and has been incredibly patient and gentle with young kids.

Training and Care

Willy already has a great foundation. He knows basic commands, settles nicely in the home, and loves learning when treats are involved. He could still use some leash training, but his eagerness for snacks makes him a great student.

Ideal Home

Willy would thrive in a home where he can be someone’s loyal sidekick and soak up all the love and attention he craves. He would do best as the only pet and would love a family that enjoys cuddles, companionship, and a dog who always wants to be nearby.
